“Would you be willing to move onto a sailboat and sail around the world?” http://ventureminimalists.wordpress.com/ I love like minded people, the fact that most of them happen to be sailors in just a coincidence. I have to admit that my intentions aren’t that ambitious but I have crossed the line from refit to live-aboard to full time voyager.
It happened again last night. I was asked to do a writing project that turned into a BBQ and the best flank steak I have ever had. I was sent away with fifteen cans of Alaskan Salmon, I full Belly, and more yummy treats for the food locker.
I am slowly stocking away food in preparation for a long summer voyage. I have been systematically loading each locker, first a quarter full then half and piece by piece will add small amounts till The`settles into her waterline. A bottle of olive oil here, a bag of rice there. I’m still searching affordable canned butter and cheese but more than likely will just can my own. I’m searching for a good used crab trap and basic fishing rod as a large part of the summer rations will come from nature.
Today is a good day to clean and dry out the boat as the sun is shining.
