The weather has been absolutely perfect, one of my best friends Manuka showed up on Saturday…, let the fun begin.  We started our weekend lying around in the sun with a can of black beer but quickly ran off to the reservation to play.

We sidetracked to a barn wedding in Ferndale hula hoops in hand, scarfed a wonderful dinner and ended up hiking out on the Reservation.  I wanted to show her the abandoned clam plant I lived in out on the dyke.  The dogs chased eagles and garden snakes.  It felt like a whole lifetime had passed since living in this beautiful place.

So much had changed, yet everything remained the same.

Manuka is a Yogini and a raw food specialist, we hiked did yoga, worked out, and scarfed on gourmet raw foods all weekend.  Chloe and Oso had a blast playing in the woods and we passed out early each night with exhaustion.

We had a small puppy accident and I was promptly kicked out of the boat with an ice cold beer in hand.  Maunuka cleaned the boat from stem to stern nesting as she went.  We met several years ago, she was living a few boats down and missing her boat very much she played in The` re organizing my man mess.  When she was done she announced that the woman cave was open for business.

Retiring broke has without a doubt been the best decision I have ever made.  Life has taken on a new meaning where healthy living and adventure rules the day.

The only bad thing I have to report is that I was forced out of desperation and poverty to shop for a few basic provisions at  “the spawn of the Devil” a big box store.  I know I’m such a hypocrite 🙁  Lesson learned.

A tired dog is a good dog, by the end of the weekend we were done, we all slept like puppies.

The power of love to change bodies is legendary, built into folklore, common sense, and everyday experience.  Love moves the flesh, it pushes matter around…. Throughout history, “tender loving care” has uniformly been recognized as a valuable element in healing.  ~Larry Dossey
