Wine and cheese make the perfect meal, without one to complement the other they are void of their perfect bouquet, like wine and cheese, good and bad go hand in hand. Without the bad could we ever completely appreciate the good? Chloe is in surgery and while it is a pretty standard operation she is 10 now and has a heart murmur. I have left her in the best hands possible, so now I sit and wait.
One step forward, two steps back, they say history is bound to repeat its self. Exactly one year ago to this day I was planning the Launch of The` I had the exact amount needed to pay my yard bills and launch. Chloe got into something in the boat yard and almost died of poisoning, along with the stress of her ordeal went every penny in my bank account. So a year has come and gone and while somethings never change the important things, the things that really matter do… life goes on and we move forward. All I can think about is picking up my puppers and nursing her back to health. With every setback my resolve grows stronger.
For over two years now I have been fighting a battle of good and evil, every day a gun is placed in my back and my income is stolen from me. I have literally been trapped like a rat. I don’t see any point in going further into the issue but again the good out weighs the bad. I may have been trapped but now there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Every day I have a safe place to take my dog and a desk to write and occasionally earn a few bucks to keep the gravy train going.
When I was 12 years old my father gave me the best peice of advice I have ever had and I live up to it every day. “Ali, at the end of the day the only thing a man truly poses is his character” I sleep peacefully knowing mine is intact.
One bad day out of the last 30 is a pretty small price to pay for freedom
Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you’ll live… at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin’ to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take… OUR FREEDOM!
~William Wallace

Hey!
Good luck with Chloe… she’ll be just fine.
Prospective. I love getting home after a long dumbassdayatwork and ready your posts
Cheers
(splurged on a bottle of scotch, got my goat cheese and rusk)
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……….what I wouldn’t give for a nice, ripe Tomme de Chevre right now. As for the Scotch, I’m set. A friend visited from London (UK) last year and brought a nice 18 year old bottle of Glenmorangie Single Malt. Unfortunately, there remain only a few wee drams left. May have to switch back to Uzzo
I just heard from the Vet, she is doing well, Scotch and goat cheese sounds amazing, I patiently wait for a visitor with a bottle of scotch, I know she will show at anytime
Oh Alan,
So sorry to hear about this setback with Chloe. Our thoughts and love are with you two. We totally understand your feelings as Wylie, our 4-legged child, is family to us as well. We’re thinking of you, katie and mark
Katie,Mark, where are you guys? sweating it out in Mexico. The wedding sounded impossibly perfect. Hope to run into you guys sooner rather than later, I’m searching for a human auto pilot to help me down the coast so I can toast the newly weds
We’re still sweating it out in Texas right now, but we’re hoping to cross into Mexico by July 4th. We’d love to see you down in the Sea. We’ll be friendless, jobless and on our way to penniless, and any familiar faces would be certainly welcomed. Do you think you might really make it down anytime soon? We’ll have a warm bottle of Pacifico waiting for you when you get there!
You guys will have more friends than you know what to do with, the people in Mexico are amazing. I have all but given up on finishing the boat this year and trying to get to Baja for a season and then figure it out. The hard part is getting down the coast solo with no vane but I’ll figure it out. The best advise I can give you guys is try and go without any modifications other than structural for a month or two, then if you cant live without it you can add it
I’ll take that warm beer and make you guys some of my world famous man food
Keep my email handy if you guys need any help stateside or parts shipped
