Wine and cheese make the perfect meal, without one to complement the other they are void of their perfect bouquet, like wine and cheese, good and bad go hand in hand. Without the bad could we ever completely appreciate the good? Chloe is in surgery and while it is a pretty standard operation she is 10 now and has a heart murmur. I have left her in the best hands possible, so now I sit and wait.
One step forward, two steps back, they say history is bound to repeat its self. Exactly one year ago to this day I was planning the Launch of The` I had the exact amount needed to pay my yard bills and launch. Chloe got into something in the boat yard and almost died of poisoning, along with the stress of her ordeal went every penny in my bank account. So a year has come and gone and while somethings never change the important things, the things that really matter do… life goes on and we move forward. All I can think about is picking up my puppers and nursing her back to health. With every setback my resolve grows stronger.
For over two years now I have been fighting a battle of good and evil, every day a gun is placed in my back and my income is stolen from me. I have literally been trapped like a rat. I don’t see any point in going further into the issue but again the good out weighs the bad. I may have been trapped but now there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Every day I have a safe place to take my dog and a desk to write and occasionally earn a few bucks to keep the gravy train going.
When I was 12 years old my father gave me the best peice of advice I have ever had and I live up to it every day. “Ali, at the end of the day the only thing a man truly poses is his character” I sleep peacefully knowing mine is intact.
One bad day out of the last 30 is a pretty small price to pay for freedom 🙂
Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you’ll live… at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin’ to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take… OUR FREEDOM!
