“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.” ~Peter Pan
This is what happens when I don’t feed Chloe on time, she turns into an absolute psychopath. I always know, no matter what that she can turn on me in an instant.
Once she has everything she needs returns to her normal sweet lovable self.
I was walking down the dock last night and from the top of the ramp I could see a little girl standing next to my boat looking lost. Even from all the way across the dock I recognized those long curly golden locks, It was Rae. I don’t have a phone so there is no way for us to contact each other but I can always count on her showing up at the most appropriate times. She kidnapped me for micro brews and we fell, eyes locked into deep conversation about what we had both been up to. I mentioned that I was slowly being groomed for an executive position that I had not asked for but expect an offer at any day.
Rae: Are you going to take it?
Me: I doubt it.
Rae: Why not? it sounds perfect for you.
Me: it is, but you see If I take the job I will have to buy a whole new wardrobe, cut my hair and start shaving. Before you know it I will buy a fancy car and it wont be long till I save enough to pay cash for a nice little house. All this will make me unbelievably attractive to the opposite sex and before you know it I will have a girl friend, get engaged, married, and then divorced. More than likely I will loose everything I have and be where I am right now. The thing is I’m already here now so whats the point. Rae let out a shriek and threw me a giant ninja hug and kiss.
Rae: I love you so much Alan, you are so weird :)
“You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always love you. That’s where I’ll be waiting.” ~Peter Pan
“For Peter’s smile is a most contagious thing.” ~Peter Pan
I have officially been diagnosed by Rae with Peter Pan Syndrome.
Peter Pan syndrome is not listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, and is not recognized by the American Psychiatric Association as a mental disorder yet I can assure you I do have it.
Peter Pan felt sadly unable to be accepted by the adult world. As a defense, he rejected the outside world preferring to live a fairy-tale life that most others couldn’t understand and therefore refused to believe it existed.
“So come with me, where dreams are born, and time is never planned. Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings, forever, in Never Never Land!” ~Peter Pan
