Rats, not only did the heater not work out but the dingy is falling apart also. Easy come, easy go, every day puts us closer to the islands and there is a small chance we will be basing out of Friday Harbor within the next few weeks. For now our old rubber ducky will have to do.
Minor setbacks are nothing more than that. Yes its still hovering around 25 degrees at night, way to cold for us but who cares, the days are getting longer and with spring right around the corner work opportunities should be poping up anytime now. We are only tied here for two more weeks then our options are open, here, there, or everywhere. Our lives will be dictated by where we can find the odd job.
Every week we are packing away little tidbits of food, still praying for a small outboard and doing the small projects that winter lets us get away with. patience is a virtue that seems to be short these days but its exciting even if we only make it 25 miles from here its a good start.
“He was the crazy one who had painted himself black and defeated the world.
She was the book thief without the words.
Trust me, though, the words were on their way, and when they arrived, Liesel would hold them in her hands like the clouds, and she would wring them out like rain.”
~Markus Zusak, The Book Thief
