Its kinda strange writing a sailing blog while being trapped at the dock but Rome wasn’t built in a day.  Each week little projects get crossed off the list and new ones are added.

We have survived the worst of the cold, actually it wasn’t bad at all.  We locked our self’s in the boat and cooked yummy food all night.  The days were spent fighting mold, a constant battle against the wet winter weather. Two adults a wet dog, and Serena’s constant cooking, all in a 22′ boat make for quite a bit of condensation.  Below is my lucky hat purchased when I went to Southern California to survey The` almost two years ago.

A huge stroke of luck has come our way, after 22 months of constant searching I have found a Lyle Hess 6′ 8″ dingy designed to sit on our cabin top.  I don’t know how we are going to pull it off but by Sunday she will be ours.  This is a huge step forward as we now have a life boat and a way to get to shore.

The harder I work the luckier I get.
