To say the ocean is my life’s blood is an understatement. Its the ocean that feeds me, its the ocean that clothes me, she is my home, my life, and my livelihood. I received this video today and it broke my heart. 70.8 percent of the world is ocean and without it there would be no us. Why then I ask do we use it as our dumping ground? Why do we fish it to extinction? Why do we as humans shit where we eat?
My frustration in rebuilding The` is at an all time high, I have tried so hard to build her as green as I can. I only use products that are not only sustainable but clean manufactured. I still have no engine and while I will set sail knowing full well of the risk, I know that sailing without puts out a huge message that there are other ways. There is a very small group of sailors out there, I call them The Brat Pack and every day they are working their asses off to better the world each in their own way.

There are many more out there. None of us are perfect but by paving the way to a cleaner existence these few sailors, the new Brat Pack are all leading by example. Next time you put a gallon of fuel in your boat, eat fast food, buy products with disposable packaging… Remember this, its your world you are destroying and your children that you are poisoning. In every sense of the word less is more. If you only change your consumption by 10% this year you are one of the leaders, share what you do and teach others, lead by example.
