I’ts starting, or ending depending on how you look at it. Sunrise was at 7:10 and sunset isn’t until 5:30. It may still be the middle of winter but the sun came out today and its 46 degrees out. The nights are still dangerously close to freezing but I think the worst of winter is behind us.
I’m down to one jacket and have put away my down vest and wool cap.
Its time to start thinking about spring cleaning and damage control from the ravages of winter.
The paint and varnish survived better than last year but still is in desperate need of attention.
I tested Seafin oil on my bare teak for the winter and am pleased enough with the results.
Its nice to see a bit of color but I have to remember spring is along way off and summer around here doesn’t start until July 5th. I’ll take very day like this I can get.
“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
“Winter is dead.”
~A.A. Milne, When We Were Very Young
