Hurry up and wait, our new little engine is giving us some grief shifting. Serena is wrapping up the school year and I am in a holding pattern, waiting, waiting, waiting.
My back is completely jacked so I have been burning through some great books. When Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee got to be too much I reluctantly pulled out Wanderer. its getting a bit better but still not very impressive. I finally figured a way to Jury rig reef lines and a short stroll around the marina inquiring for junk line turned up the exact amount needed to finish the job.
My 25 year old stainless steel pintles and gudgeons have been on my list to replace, I’m pretty fond of my rudder and would like to keep it. A ghetto stress test confirmed that they will survive one more season so that’s crossed off my list.
The pace is pretty slow around here, lots of cat naps. watching the weather blow by, and tinkering. There is no rush to get to anything, whatever we don’t finish now can be done on the hook. I find myself doing quite a bit of wandering these days, its amazing how much life can change so much in such a short time. Step off the cliff and a net will appear.
