In the good old days I could just grab my camera, passport, 50 rolls of film. and could be anywhere in the world in less than 24 hrs. I always kept a few grand in my camera bag, enough to get me a one way ticket to anywhere with some spare change to last a few days. Once I arrived I had to make do and earn my way home again.
I love digital but am still very new to it, my mobile office is beat to shit but portable, dirt cheap and so far indestructible. This little HP netbook has been through hell and back and while barely hanging on gets the job done. My new to me Nikon has been put through the ringer but with only 13,000 actuation’s she is barely broken in. With my incredibly limited budget 700 bucks isn’t bad for this very basic set up.
I finally have some time on my hands and with Sookie safely tucked away for the winter its go time. I have made a 100% commitment to never work again so the question is, do I still have what it takes to make money as a shooter. I have a lot to learn, a good digital mentor and am based for the winter in the heart of the Salish Sea, the most beautiful place I have ever been.
